Contract awarded to establish and deliver a new national information and referral service to help victims and survivors of child sexual abuse

The Attorney-General has awarded Australian Childhood Foundation a contract to establish and deliver a new national information and referral service. The service will help victims and survivors of child sexual abuse, practitioners and the general public to navigate the service system and access help and information.

This new service:

• delivers on Measure 7 of the First National Action Plan of the National Strategy to Prevent and Respond to Child Sexual Abuse 2021–2030
• responds to Recommendation 9.5 of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.

The service will include a website, national helpline and specialist child sexual abuse service navigators. It will connect victims, survivors and others with local support services and provide information and advice about child sexual abuse. 

This service model was informed by a broad public consultation process with the community, service sector, peak bodies and government agencies. For more details, you can access the Service Sector and Government Consultations Summary and the Community Consultations Summary.

The awarding of the contract to Australian Childhood Foundation follows a two-stage competitive procurement process. The service is anticipated to launch in late 2026.
