decorative

Protecting children from child sexual abuse through offending prevention and intervention measures is a top priority for the Australian Government.

Following extensive consultation and service design work, we have released an approach to market on AusTender to engage a service provider to deliver Australia’s first national pilot service to prevent child sexual abuse re-offending. This is under Measure 14 of the First Commonwealth Action Plan to Prevent and Respond to Child Sexual Abuse.

The Child Sexual Abuse Recidivism Reduction Pilot Service will protect children from sexual abuse by working with child sexual abuse offenders as they are released from prison to promote accountability, increase community reintegration and prevent further harm. The pilot service will be modelled on the Circles of Support and Accountability (CoSA) model and other child sexual abuse-related post-custodial community reintegration programs.

The approach to market will be open on AusTender from 6 March to 29 May 2026. A pre-recorded industry briefing is provided on the procurement’s AusTender page.
