National Strategy First Action Plans Evaluation – Evaluation Report
In 2025, we contracted consulting firm Deloitte to complete an independent evaluation of the National Strategy’s First National Action Plan and First Commonwealth Action Plan. The evaluation aimed to understand if the First Action Plans had been delivered as intended, what worked well, and what could be improved upon in future action plans.
We released the evaluation’s Final Evaluation Report on 10 July 2026. The report shares key findings from the evaluation and lessons learnt for future action plans. It also includes case studies that highlight work completed under the National Strategy.
Deloitte developed the report in consultation with:
- the National Office for Child Safety
- Australian Government and state and territory government representatives who lead work under the National Strategy
- our National Strategy advisory groups.
