National Child Protection Week – Checklist tool
National Child Protection Week is held every year in September. It's an opportunity to reflect on how organisations can turn conversations into practical action to keep children and young people safe.
Use this practical checklist tool to help identify actions your organisation can take to strengthen its child safety practices.
The actions are based on the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations. The National Principles help create environments where children and young people are safe, supported and respected.
Although we developed this checklist to support organisations during National Child Protection Week, you can use it throughout the year to identify practical actions to strengthen child safe practices.
The Introductory Self-Assessment Tool for Organisations provides a more structured way for organisations to assess current practice and identify priority areas for improvement.
