Supporting services responding to victims and survivors and children who have displayed harmful sexual behaviours

Components

The Grants for Services Responding to Child Sexual Abuse and Children who have Displayed Harmful Sexual Behaviours program provides funding to existing specialist and community support services across Australia. These services support victims and survivors of child sexual abuse and children who have displayed concerning or harmful sexual behaviours.

The Australian Government is providing $12 million over 3 years under the program, from 2025 to 2028. The 23 successful grant recipients are organisations who already offer services to support victims and survivors and/or children who have displayed harmful sexual behaviours. These organisations will receive funding to expand their capacity and enhance their capability to provide timely, safe and effective support.

The grant program is part of the $80 million commitment agreed at National Cabinet in September 2024 to enhance and expand child-centric, trauma-informed supports for children and young people who have experienced or witnessed family, domestic and sexual violence.

The grant also contributes to existing reforms under Themes 2 and 3 of the National Strategy to Prevent and Respond to Child Sexual Abuse 2021-2030, including supporting service providers to implement the Minimum Practice Standards for Specialist and Community support services responding to child sexual abuseRecognising the ongoing and often lifelong impacts of child sexual abuse, this program also supports services for adult victims and survivors.
